Why?

There’s nothing that will happen technology wise that would make PS5 obsolete. It would just be Sony forcing y’all to buy new hardware So you can play Uncharted 12

I don't worry about new IPs and games with Sony. Never have and will. We gonna skip from UC4 to UC12 now

But the gap between their console releases have always been at least 6 years.

PS1 - PS2 was a little over 6
PS2 - PS3 a little under 7 years
PS3 - PS4 was 7 years
PS4 - PS5 gonna be 7 years.

I would rather a PS6 before a PS5 Pro.

Support =/= life cycle.

Every playstation has had a minimum of 11 years support. Fifa 19 two years ago was the last PS3 new game made. That's 12 years.

They produce and make playstation hardware at least 10 years. Last PS3 hardware was made in 2017.

And life cycle and support are not the same.

They stopped making PS3s in 2017 after 11 years and still supported for years after. Online servers were still up until this year on many PS3 games.

PS2 stopped production after 12 years and still had support for years. The last PS2 online server shut down in 2016 with Final Fantasy.

PS4 is gonna be 7 years old this fall and will have similar support for over a decade easily.

They don't abandon their consoles like others do.

Didn't you say cross gen is a bad thing, but I guess that's why you pay for remasters? Tlou pt.1 remaster was a 1080p version of a 720p game, the ps5 show reveal is the same playbook, who even asked for another dark souls remaster when they just released a remaster within the last few years? Im sure you'd rather have bloodborne 2, who cares about new ips...

What ps4 games are you looking forward to this fall or next year? You've known about every ps4 game being released this year FOR YEARS. Nothing is on the horizon and you say this. Not even the ps5 being fully backwards compatible like you and others swore was gonna be a thing
