And life cycle and support are not the same.
They stopped making PS3s in 2017 after 11 years and still supported for years after. Online servers were still up until this year on many PS3 games.
PS2 stopped production after 12 years and still had support for years. The last PS2 online server shut down in 2016 with Final Fantasy.
PS4 is gonna be 7 years old this fall and will have similar support for over a decade easily.
They don't abandon their consoles like others do.

Nobody ever played the old systems that late in next gen even they still had releases, the last NES came in America was released in 1995, the Playstation came out that year lmao, who was playing NES, so that ten years thing has always been bogus
PS3 was still getting release this gen, Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 are ps3 games, nobody played them on ps3

The last NES game in Japan came out in 2003, most console cycles have been 5 years, ps3 and Xbox360 were the first 7 year gap between new consoles, and ps4 is only as long because they came out with pro to stall out but the ps4 hardware is ancient, its been 7 years since release
