The song was originally featured on a Christmas Sampler from LaFace Records. The company wanted a Christmas rap and OutKast shytted on Christmas, which led to them eventually getting an album because the song became so popular. There’s even sleigh bells in the beat.
Fun fact. Diddy directed the video and originally OutKast was influenced by Souls of Mischief. You can even see similarities in Players Ball and 93 til’ Infinity’s videos.
