Your asking for a tall order. I am not familiar with Will or Kevin Hart as a person, but with that being said, this is one of the standout moments of that film where you can see John Candy is reaching back to his own life, and using it for his character to try and not cry, while at the same time stay cheerful.

He didn't say much.

But you can kind of see that maybe, since he was always fat, that he was made fun of in school and uses that hurt to be Del.

shytty idea.

I've never understood the appeal of Kevin Hart, to me he's just annoying without being funny.

Will Smith is too much of a movie star to play an everyman, family guy like Steve Martin does in the OG.

Will mentioned in his Breakfast Club interview that he was jealous of the Rock; this might be Will trying to emulate some of his career moves :ehh:
Why would he be jealous of the rock? Unlike the rock, Will’s movies are actually good.

I haven’t seen a single movie of his and I hope to keep it that way. I just find him irritating.

I guess it could work with a different dynamic but outside of making a lot of money I honestly don't see it working out better than say the Kevin Hart remake of Intouchables.

Two things that made the OG so good was that John Hughes based it on his own hellish experience traveling cross country once as well as having written John Candy's character to be exactly how Candy was in real life, both the good and the bad. So even though it could be considered an "outlandish" comedy there was a lot of real life and honesty in the film. Will and Hart will definitely never allow that shyt in their film.

I normally shyt on Remakes...hell I shyt on The Fresh Prince remake just yesterday, but I'm kinda digging this idea. PTA was classic to me, and one of my favorite holiday movies. I think this lends well to what Kevin Hart does well, so I am somewhat excited to see what comes of this.
