Similar to how the NFL’s overtime offensive possession rule was changed after Josh Allen and the Bills didn’t get a chance to match the Chiefs’ touchdown in the playoffs a few years ago…

MLB needs to change the 3-batter rule for pitchers in the postseason. If a manager has to pull a reliever who clearly ain’t got it that night OR if a manager just wants to bring a reliever specialist in for one batter…that should be allowed from a tiebreaker game at the end of the regular season to the Wild Card round and so on.

This series could be so tight that it might end up putting that rule amendment in motion in the offseason.

I ain’t trying to stay up til 2am to go through 11 pitching changes

I swear to god if the Yankees finally make it to the WS only because they didn’t face the Astros, only to get beat by the Dodgers who trip over their own feet every postseason l, I might just die of laughter :mjlol:

Cortes is not a fkn closer, why would you have someone come in who throws 93mph meatballs to one of their best hitters with the game (and possibly series since game 1 sets the tone) on the line? :skip:

Boone really is a whole dumbass :dead:

Cortes also hadn’t pitched in over a month :snoop:

I know this has been said already, but if we lose, then Cashman and Boone need to be fired immediately. That was the worst call Boone could've made last night, Tim Hill was primed and ready.

Cashman and Boone should be fired even if they win the World Series.

This team is here in spite of them, not because of them.

The game shouldn't have gone into extras. Weaver blew it. It was a forgone conclusion to me after the fact, regardless of if Cortes or Hill ended up throwing the last pitch.

The defensive mistakes by the Yankees were costly.

The Dodgers scored their first run in the 5th after Kike got a triple and then scored on a sac fly. It probably should have been a double but Soto didn’t have a good angle on it.

Same thing happened in the 8th for their second run. Ohtani should have had a double, but they screwed up the relay throw and he was able to advance to 3rd and then score on a sac fly.

Then in the 10th, Cabrera misplayed Edman’s groundball which should have produced at least one out.

I wouldn’t blame Weaver. He got everyone he faced out, but when he came in, Ohtani was already on 3rd instead of 2nd because of the botched relay.

Folks are really trying to put Freeman’s HR in the same category as Kirk Gibson’s.

Kirk homered off a HOF closer who was in the middle of his prime.

Freeman homered off a barely mid starting pitcher who didnt throw a game day pitch in close to two months

I really hate Aaron Boone
