pixar just keeps adding hits to the resume, this is a hell of a movie...entertaining and has it teaching lessons....think it might be hard for a lil kid to understand everything that's going on, but they'll still enjoy it...anger had me rolling the whole movie....

really dug the lava short film too....that's all majority people want in life: someone to lava

Saw it tonight and Pete Docter is just too good, man. There's no one at Pixar touching his level of creativity. I think this might be the best Pixar movie after Monsters Inc. (also by Docter). :wow:

I'm not saying it's flawless though because it has some stuff that didn't add anything and felt kinda pointless (like the abstract thought scene) which could've/should've been left on the cutting floor but in terms of the concepts they were working with, just 'wow'. I'm not even sure if I can qualify it as a kids movie because I'd say 90% of what the movie's doing would fly straight over their heads and the tone can be very sad (which is a big part of what the movie's trying to tell, but again I don't think kids would understand it). It really felt like an animated movie aimed at adults more than anything.

My favorite joke of the movie though:

The scene where Joy knocked over the crates with 'facts' and 'opinions', was like "Oh no, I can't tell which is which!" and Bing Bong was like "That's alright, this happens all the time". :russ:

Joke went straight over the heads of most of the audience too, I think I only heard two other people lose it.

Oh yeah, outside of the repetitiveness of the song, I thought the Lava short was great, although I'll say I agree on this:

Nah, the best part was when she was backwards :mjlol:

Shoulda left it like that :russ:

I didn't mind that it continued into a happy ending but ending it on such a sad yet darkly comical note would've been absolutely hysterical.

Totally agree. This movie just had genius moment after genius moment, and with each genius moment there were layers of genius on top of the genius. Just wildly creative. When they sent that commercial theme song memory up and had it stuck in her head :russ:

You're bugging breh. This movie was fukking genius as fukk. On so many god damn levels. Movie is damn near a Cognitive Psychology 101 class while teaching us about life, love, happiness, family, and loss/letting things go. I could write an entire page about how genius this fukking movie is.

One whole page? Wow :ohhh:
