"Back in the day" you had:

Black Sox scandal
Marge Schott's racist ass
Pete Rose scandal
85 Pittsburgh drug trials
Steroid abuse
Bribes
Mickey Mantle getting a blowjob during a game
Popping greenies in the clubhouse
and a myriad of other problematic occurrences in baseball history yet these old farts wanna be on some "back in the day" bullshyt like the game was ever "pure":camby:

And Wehner deserves to have his chin checked for his comments. He has no idea the relationship Dietrich had with his grandfather or what he would have approved or disapproved of:camby:

What is he talking about? It was nothing but jewelry being worn back in the day. You also had swag, emotion, personality, charm, anger, joy, etc back in the day in baseball. The complete opposite of what the game is today. Why these old white former players who are now broadcasters stay trying to sweep that under the rug all the time:what:

Maybe because they were also upset when the black players did it back then and they do their best to block out any memories of having to share a locker room or field with a "black":mjpls:

You know these dudes were all smiles when African Americans started to leave the game. Later only to then see carribeaans take their place their souls must of been crushed.:bryan:

I remember when Arthur Rhodes would pitch and he had these stud earrings that would fukk your vision up. I think a team made him cover it up once because it was blingin so hard the batter couldn’t see.

The Pittsburgh announcers, Atlanta’s announcers, Smoltz, all need to get over themselves

Yep, umps always had to tell pitchers back in the day to tuck their jewelry or take it off because they were blinding batters.

I didn’t know baseball players could wear earrings til I saw that 30 for 30 about the Hernandez brothers leaving Cuba

My first refereed basketball game I forgot to take my earrings off had to give them shyts to the scorers. Iverson the only one who got away with it in the NBA.

Baseball used to be my favorite sport man.

Analytics & old crusty cacs like this is what drove me away for a while. Acuna, Albies, & Dansby Swanson be swaggin on the field & off of it & they’re part of the reason I’m starting to like it again.

Can’t wait till all these old time broadcasters & reporters die off

Yeah, I don't even think it's racism with Acuna even if it looks like it on the surface. These Pirates announcers are just bitter, mad at the world, pieces of shyt. Pittsburgh needs to get rid of those pricks ASAP.
Oh theres definitely probably a lot of racism mixed in, its just not 100 percent racism. Pittsburgh is a city thats proud to be old and white. At least it was when I lived there. I don't think they even have a hip hop radio station anymore...

You would know better than I would. :manny:

The Dietrich comments are one of the most appalling things I've ever seen or heard a commentator say about a player and he's white. I think if they were covering an Angels game and Mike Trout came out looking like Eric B. & Rakim in the 80s they'd have a meltdown. :manny:
