They way these old nikkaz talk and TheColi adjusted numbers...you have to add 15-20ppg to their averages...so MJ giving you an easy 50, PIP an easy 40..so the scores would routinely be 180-175 final scores...and they still would be putting dudes on their ass when they came to the paint...:skip::mjgrin:

Doubt any version of pip would average 40 in any era...but he could probably flirt with averaging a 27-10-10 type triple double if he dominated the ball like guys like Harden and Luka do nowadays...even as a the prototypical point forward he never was holding the ball whole possessions as the initiator of the triangle
He's not averaging 27 per game, Pippen wasn't that good of a scorer.

I feel like players say this and actually believe it because they are imagining themselves with their current level of knowledge in the body of their prime. Someone like Pip played but also has been watching closely for the past 20 years, there's no doubt he's smarter now. So ya I bet current mental Pip in 1991 Pip's body would indeed average 40 ppg. But not 1991 Pip.

Don't get me wrong, I think 1991 Pip would be a top 3 player in 2019, but I think that's where this phenomenon comes from.

He had the skills package to do it, but maybe not the aggression...nor ever played in a system that asked him to...put him in todays game with a faster pace, “freedom of movement” and tell him to put up ten 3s a game or tell him to make literally every play down the court like harden...he could get damn close

Nah. Not only did he lack the motor but he also lacked the skill with his streak shooting ass.

He can't score the ball as well as LeBron, Doncic, Kawhi, George, etc. he ain't averaging no 29 points per game. It's ludicrous. Pippen played in a fairly faced paced era himself in the late 80's/early 90's and was always a second fiddle. In the seasons where he didn't have Mike in '94 and with the Blazers in '99 he was never a bucket like that.

:mjlol: at Pippen shooting 10 threes a game
