If modern society is not narcissistic how do you reconcile the collapse of Christian morality and the rise of "Hook-Up" culture?

Do you have a passport? Sounds like you've never left the country.

Because "hook-up" culture has always existed and is not endemic to the United States or "christian morality"...since Europe and South America/Carribbean have been on this shyt for a long time.

You live in a bubble of culture in which the only way you want things to be run is according to your views of what you think the "worst" is without considering successful societies in which alternatives have equally worked as well.

And even further, I don't see what narcissism has to do with "christian morality" or how thats even a bad thing.

and yes...I completely understand your argument as its the only legitimate non-religious argument I've seen.

BUT...Its not something I'll consider at the end of the day. I think couples should be able to still pool their money because when it comes down to it, a lot of them still have things like inheritance, medical emergency access and health benefits, and cohabitation rights that I think are worth granting.

Sure...tax benefits should be granted to kids, I don't see why gays can't get the other stuff.

Sure single parenting has always existed. But we give more "breaks" so to speak to married couples when they have kids. Gay married couple would have the same advantages as heterosexual couples. Even though in essence they're being raised by single parent (not the natural 2 parents).

I guess it depends on what you mean about against. If you mean it should be illegal (like thrown in jail), then I don't see how the 2 are same. Being against gay marriage doesn't follow that it should be against the law to have gay sex.

However, the supposed "equal rights" that gays have been clamoring for have actually nothing to do with obtaining "equal rights" and everything to do with changing the actual DEFINITION of marriage, in an attempt to normalize homosexual behavior. Meanwhile, the actual homosexual act is expressly forbidden in the book that the actual Christian definition of marriage is based upon.

at this point - with our societal values and social customs that have been shaped by thousands of years of religion- any sort of humanism would be based on past spiritual teachings and customs that we are used to already?

Only recently, since the 30s has one type of humanism been solely based on naturalism as opposed to traditional ideas.

Moral values are 'properly' founded on human nature and experience alone. OK, well why have religions been around for so long (what purpose did they serve as far as ethics are concerned)?

gays in these modern nations aren't seeking Rights... they are seeking validation.... That's why even when they Could get all the legal, medical, and financial rights.... they still fight and promote, and cry for acceptance and validation.
