yeah I really can't. I am not of the camp that pretends this shyt didn't/doesn't exist, because it definitely does. People think because I am white they can casually drop their racist bullshyt on me when I'm around
I got no time for that, I tell them I don't appreciate it and move on. If a person I respected once before posts racist, tea-party shyt on FB I unfriend them immediately.
I went to a mixed elementary school in Chicago, we might have had racist parents or problems outside of school but we all got along and were pretty much colorblind
... except as we all got older some of the white kids got more racist and would crack jokes in their groups
I wonder we they got that from, because it definitely wasn't developed at school
I'm older now and have a pretty diverse group of friends, idk why I posted this because I usually stay out of these discussions on here. I'm not really politically active, either, so I can't say I fight hard for race issues. I just treat people as individuals and evaluate them based on their actions. I give everyone a fair shake and try to use as neutral language as possible. This applies for all races and cultures, I don't make fun of orientals by cracking cheap asian stereotype jokes that I see a lot. It's easy conversation for whites to make fun of other races, I see it all the time.
