Ethiopia, Kenya... several governments have told their people to not go to certain areas because of enslavement practises in modern times.
Libya is an issue because West Africans use it to pass thru heading to Europe but LIbya has been know to kidnap black migrants for ages and they still keep going...

Africa union needs to put international pressure and sanctions on these countries for humans rights violations but the people need to also respect themselves.
You know as well as I do that a lot of the people that go to those countries are women and men from the village. You know how it is in the village. They are desperate. There is no money out there and their families need to eat. What makes matters worse are the consulting agencies that lie to them.
Yes I agree that some of them are aware, and should have never went there. However, a lot of deception is at play here. A lot of times from their own country folks trying to make a quick buck off their demise.

I don't want to sound callous but to those of us who know the region and have friends from there, the number of Ethiopian/Eritrean women who leave Ethiopia to the Gulf for 'domestic servant' work and have their passports seized so they can be beaten and raped without pay far exceeds the numbers caught in Libya trying to make it to Europe.
Not trying to minimize this or make it right but if they were going to get buck about their citizens being slaved out abroad, they need to get in the Saudis/Qataris faces as much as the Libyans but people do what they find expedient unfortunately.

People don't understand how fortunate we are in America. We complain about our police being racist, these people would praise to have competent police who aren't corrupt just so they could start a business.

How are they to get there? Teleportation? If not, they must convoy across numerous other nations borders. Either via land or air.
