How did you reach that conclusion? Did you see the post I quoted?

I swear dudes on this site are borderline retarded

He said dikkey should win because A. He won 20 games and B. He did so on a team that sucks.

The "shytty team" argument means that it's harder for him to get wins because the team didn't score much for him. Which I showed isn't true.

Are you following along now?

:snoop:

So, give us the reason Kershaw should win the Cy Young, then. Him and dikkey have very similar stats except dikkey's record is much better

*waits for you to bring up 10 different stats to show record doesn't matter

Because I feel like it. But nah...Kershaw has a slightly better ERA, slightly more Ks and a slightly lower WHIP. Really, any of Kershaw, dikkey, Cueto or Gio can win it and they'd be deserving. Certainly no runaway winner...although I kind of expect dikkey to that. :manny:

But wins are the absolute dumbest way to measure a pitcher's season. Wins tell you that Barry Zito, AJ Burnett, Lance Lynn and Clayton Richard all had better seasons than Kershaw.

Also, Cliff Lee has 6 WINS despite a 3.12 ERA, 205 IP and K/BB of 8+.

Wins are dumber than RBIs.

dikkey has more innings pitched and more strikeouts and the shyttiness of the team is not just measured by runs scored, Mets had one of the worst bullpens in the league.

Yes, he has more innings. Assuming Kershaw throws tomorrow, I'm guessing he'll finish with 7-8 more innings on the season....or about 1 start. Certainly worth something, but it's not a huge number. And yes, he has more strikeouts...but Kershaw has the higher K/9 and K%. And the lower WHIP. So it's very, very close.

And for those people who loved the "September games mean more" angle, Kershaw has a 1.74 ERA in his last 8 starts with the Dodgers battling to stay in contention (.67 in his last 4). This would be the only time I agree with this line of reasoning though...when things are otherwise incredibly close.

But, like I said...it's there is no wrong answer.

....as for the bolded. Here are some facts for you.

R.A. dikkey left 9 runners on base this year when he left games. The Mets bullpen allowed 3 of them to score.

Clayton Kershaw also left 9 runners on base this year when he left games. The Dodgers bullpen allowed 6 of them to score.

OK, so dikkey now has had more offensive support and his bullpen has performed better. Next argument?
