lol ^^^..im just ctfu at espn and media saying trout is mvp and better than cabrera..cut the ish..miguel is and has been best hitter in the game for past idk how many years..hes the most consistent hitter period every year. if he has a big playoffs which i see him having they will just say oh he isnt as good as trout in the field..idgaf is he is..ill take offense over defense anyday and its not like hes awful at 3rd..he gets job done
You dismiss the difference between them on the defensive side of the ball while IGNORING that the gap between them on offense is minute.
Mike Trout has .963 OPS, SECOND IN THE LEAGUE....in a pitcher-friendly park. He has higher OBP than Cabrera while Cabrera outpaces him in the power department. But when you take into account what Trout adds in taking extra bases/stealing bases and what Cabrera LOSES in that department (double-plays for starters)...the gap disappears.
This doesn't even take into account the gap between them on defense. I'll admit Cabrera hasn't been as bad as I thought he'd be, as he actually makes the majority of plays hit to him...he just makes far fewer plays than the rest of the league because he has no range.
Cabrera is the better hitter. Trout is the better player.
