Exactly. While I think some folk go overboard, im sure the only quality dolls from that time were white. The black ones either homemade or pretty shabby looking.

Most black women still worked during that time. They were still black. Most couldn't afford to be a housewife. They were maids, nannies, sharecroppers, seamstresses, school teachers, secretaries, etc.
