I wouldnt say he's a shyt coach. His switch on everything philosophy was annoying tho. Played favorites? What coach doesn't? You don't think Pop has favorites in SA? I can't think of any Knicks that suffered undeservedly because someone else was a Woody favorite. Can you? Blame everything on Shump is a stretch. I don't think he was wrong for wondering aloud why this athletic, 6'5, 220 mufukka can't make lay ups.

AAAANYWAY -- Knicks signing Darion Atkins from UVA to a partially guaranteed deal. Definite defensive potential. 7-2 Wingspan, 9 foot standing reach, solid vertical (no step is 30 inches, so his max is somewhere around 35 or so) he can play that 3-4 and guard a bunch of positions. Not sure if anything will come from it... but If you liked somebody like Quincy Acy, you'll like Atkins more. MUCH better offensively.

That 54 win team we had overachieved breh. Jr and melo were legit the only threats to score and Raymond was the worst starting point guard in the nba
Dog, stop. Tyson Chandler was defensive player of the year.
But on top of that, they jumped on a weak East year, Melo had the best season of his career. They got great minutes out of Novak, who is a better shooter than anyone on the roster. Shumpert shot 40% from three. They got solid minutes from Jason Kidd, they have established veteran talent and leadership.
This team has a nice foundation of useful players, two young exciting guys... but they don't have the base. And the East is stronger.

Tyson should have never got defensive player of the year. He overrated as hell as a shot blocker and he is useless on offensive. He not that much better than Lopez.
Grant is better than shump and Jr is only slightly better than affailo. The east is much better tho. I did not consider that at all
