Phil likes Calderon. Don't think he's going anywhere.

Everyone in here always talk about how tough boogie is but calderon over there talking shyt to him and he only gets physical when Timmy gets in the way to stop him.:stopitslime:

:salute: To timmy even tho he was traded. Dude stood up for his teammate against one of the toughest big men in the league!

Who thought Cousins is tough though? He might be one of the most skilled Big's in the league but he is emotional like a female. Every time I see him he's crying or complaining or some shyt about foul calls.

If we could get Andre Miller to come be our veteran PG off the bench, I'd probably take that 3 million dollar hit. But without a vet in place, I think I'd hold off. I'd be hoping that he can pick up his play (not a crazy amount but proving serviceable) and stay healthy a bit so we could maybe sell him to another team that considers the cap increases and has a need for some shooting and game management. Worst case scenario we at least have a vet to try and mentor Grant and Galloway.

I don't think we're going to want to have dead money on the books in the coming offseasons. Keep him for now, see if a market opens up, especially if the team plays well early.

Plus... this team needs his shooting. Like NEEEEEDS it.

I agree thats a lot of years to still have him on the books but I wonder when he plans on retiring. He'll be 34 this coming September. It's possible that he'll hang it up after 17-18 but I wouldn't want to take that bet.

As solid as I think this offseason as been, I have my doubts about the team playing well early. We have 6 new rotation players who now have to learn the system :patrice: I wouldnt be surprised if we struggle a lot early on.

Might as well keep Calderon now. I'm not sure if I trust a 1/2 year and rookie point guards running the team right now

The market is basically dried up now

I hope Shved is re-signed

How many players are we at now? I've only counted like 9, 10

Afflalo
Lopez
O'Quinn
Williams
Melo
Early
Galloway
Calderon
Porzingis
Ricky Ledo (Non-guaranteed)

It's a trade off, I'd need a sure thing signing or two to deal him. This team needs shooting and veteran leadership, but it also can't really afford to rely on shooting from someone who's gonna be injured for extended time. I like Miller despite his lack of shooting because he'd be a veteran presence with a post game and smart passing (plus he has experience with Melo). I'd also think about it if the money saved was the difference in adding KJ McDaniels as another wing. I'm just a fan of KJ's upside tbh and I think it'd be worth the 3 million dollar hit moving forward to take a flier on him the way we did with O'Quinn.

But this assumes the Rockets wouldn't match 3 million. I feel like they would.
