tbh, I had a feeling he was gonna go somewhere else since it was reported that we offered less. Phil probably tried to sell him on taking a little less so they could add another quality piece or two, and he wanted all his money. It is what it is. He would've been a nice piece, but I just cant get disappointed over losing out on 16/10 and iffy defense

You wanted Greg Monroe? Anyone worth coming was never coming so I don't know what's to complain about. The Knicks aren't going to win by overpaying mediocre free agents.

That's basically it, the worst thing to do is lock yourself into the 4-7 seed range. They need to use their cap space to absorb bad deals and acquire picks.

Them dudes were gonna hate regardless. We sign Afflalo to one of the best deals so far, and it's maybe 4 posts saying it was a good deal and then crickets and it would've been the same if we signed Monroe, but the minute he chose MIL, as expected the "knicks lost" posts show up. It's whatever. I'll gladly take these "L's" if it means we're not stupid with the money anymore

If we're excluding all trades done by Billy King, sure. For as awful as the Bargnani trade was, Billy King traded 3 1st round picks for 1 season of Pierce and 1 and half seasons of a broken down KG. We don't control our first round pick until 2019 because of that trade
