"Ok guys here's the play. JR you catch the ball 40 feet from the hoop, dribble to 30 feet and hurl one at the rim. What do you want Melo? Just stand in the corner and watch JR win the game, why would we run a play for you here?"

:dead: at anyone who believes that was the play Fisher drew up

Act like 'Melo was open initially (1:55mark of the video below). Act like 'Melo has won a game at the buzzer since 2011. Act like Swish hasn't won 2 at the buzzer since then.

Melo was screaming for it breh.

Just face it, JR Smith is a mental midget and needs to be off this team

And that player was obstructing his view the whole time. At what mark in the video could he actually see 'Melo through his defender as he was crouching while dribbling?

You are basically admitting that JR has no court awareness.

Can't believe people still giving this cat a pass in 2014. He was taking that shot even if he was triple teamed

Prigioni throws the ball in after 2 seconds, if he waits another second you can see Melo coming open as he's cleared his defender as the ball is caught by JR.

That play was not drawn up like that. Either Prigioni enters the ball too soon and doesn't wait for Melo, or JR is supposed to catch and get the ball to him.

Melo's calling for the ball the whole time, so you're telling me he watched Fisher draw up a play for JR and still decided to wave his hands calling for the ball from the moment JR catches it even though according to you he was never meant to touch the ball. Makes total sense

alright brehs who are the top incoming players in the draft? post some youtube vids then lets sit around the camp fire and talk about it :obama:

Brother. Welcome. :blessed:

Jahil Okafor: The early favorite for number 1

Mudiay - the early favorite for top guard/wing taken - this is his first CBA game, but his highlights are all out there

Karl Towns - Another big at the top of the draft

Cliff Alexander - Grown-man Power Forward already, strong and athletic. His touch isn't great yet, and he needs a lot of work on his footwork. But he has that STAT frame from his days in high school.

Mario Herzonja - International Wing, skilled passer/creater and a good scorer. Can get a shot off from anywhere, athletic too. There are a lot of questions about whether he can play team game, but he's young. He scores in isolation A LOT.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Mario-Hezonja-6392/ (here's the breakdown)

Kelly Oubre - Long/athletic wing. Lefty. Shooting stroke, great athlete.

There's a start.

Shump has to realize they need you at the end of the he's an offensive threat :laff:.

But he needs to realize that he can't be aggressive all the damn time. He gets in foul trouble gets cold and in the 4th he has to play passive Defense because he is on the verge of fouling out.

Who the hell is teaching them defense all they do foul:dahell:

Old Brooklyn, word to @DPresidential
:what:This goes both ways. The Cavs and the Hornets make a couple shots and a couple calls go their way and the knicks are 0-9. Talking about what could have happened or who was lucky when is irrelevant when we can discuss what actually went down. You dont get points for shots that rim out. We can sit here talking about which way the ball could've bounced during literally every play of the game.
So you acknowledge that sometimes teams catch bad breaks and sometimes they get lucky, so what are you going on about?:beli: Nowhere did I say the Knicks should or could be 9-0. Nowhere did I say we should've won tonight or in DET. Nowhere did I say we're a great or even good team right now. It's like you completely missed the point of the original post which is we could be a team hovering around .500 without 2 important pieces, so I'm gonna wait and see what we can do before I give up on believing we can win 41/make the playoffs.

You don't want to deal in hypotheticals? That's your business.

I'm the biggest & probably only JR fan in NY, BUT that was a dumb play, point blank period. You have Carmelo freaking Anthony on the court, the ball is suppose to be in HIS hands to make the play. Rookie coach or not, I can guarantee that Fisher did not draw up a iso play for JR. Homie needs to be benched for that.

As bleak as things look now, I'm still being optimistic. We're only 5 games under .500 (:upsetfavre:), but their is still PLENTY of season left to turn it around.

defense is :trash:

shump out there :cook:

sam :salute:

but the overall team defense is just not effective. their rotations need to be 150% quicker, they need to know the opponents personnel better, they need to stop the silly reaches when they're out of position, they have to play team defense for the whole 24 seconds, and then you have to get the rebound.

a common denominator for all nba champions is they've played great team defense. but you learn great defense through practice and coaching.

and fisher's rotations are still :flabbynsick:
