MI 3 is overrated
The first MI was the best one IMO. I remember it getting a flack when it was released

3 definitely brought it back

MI2 was one of the first Matrix rip offs. IT was an awful film and its a shame because Thandie was looking immaculate in it.

MI3 definitely grounded the franchise again, but MI4 made it a must watch.

Nah... Mission Impossible was on its deathbed after 2 being trash by fans and Tom Cruise was at the lowest point of his career with all of his drama. You see it the affect of 2 in the huge box office dip of 3. 3 turned the franchise around and they strike while the iron was hot with 4.

From what I remember he makes big money with worldwide grosses, his production company had a big cut of money coming out of China compared to others.

I'm looking at boxofficemojo now, outside of the Mummy and Oblivion, compared to his budgets he has been pretty consistent and successful

Great actor and probably the best villain in the series but MI still the high point of the franchise. De Palma killed it, one of his best. The way it subverted genre tropes and expectations, and even Tom Cruise's acting.
