The narrative: Sony's first-party games cost too much to make a consistent profit from and they're doomed, but also they're just going to give those games away day one to keep up with Microsoft.

But somehow, none of y'all Xbox fans questioned why if the costs of development are so high, Microsoft would be willing to give away AAA games day one on GamePass and just throw money into a pit for years and years until the magical day when enough PlayStation users left for Xbox.

If we find out that @The Mad Titan is actually Phil Spencer's Coli account, that will explain all the dumb posts that never get anything correct.

The reality is they honestly believed Microsoft were so wealthy they would be willing to just eat the cost for as long as it took to beat sony.

They know deep down it’s a loss leading money pit which is why they thought if Sony were forced to do it it would bankrupt them. Plan backfired and now everything they make is gonna end up on playstation

Absolutely, but that's a hell of a thing to think when Microsoft is a service-focused company where the CEO and CFO have repeatedly said that they want all their services to be wherever they can put them.

Also a hell of a thing to think for a company that clearly wants to eke out profit margins everywhere and that has killed hardware in the past for limiting those profit margins.

Simple answer: Sony games are movie games and cost too much.

Xbox makes groundbreaking game ass games so they cost littler money and shyt. Also GROUNDED

Xbox does make more service games, but they all die out immediately, so I guess that "advantage" never materialized.

The thing is that Sony is diversifying. I'm not a huge Jim Ryan fan, but their service strategy started under his watch, and Helldivers 2 started production under his watch, too.

I think Sony should target lower-cost service games like Helldivers. There's an AA of service games that no one is really consistently trying to make games in, but the last two months had two AA service games in Palworld and Helldivers 2 score financially.

Weve been saying it for years that Gamepass was unsustainable yet xbots wouldn’t wanna hear about it. Microsoft was doing it cos no one was buying their games and they had the money to do it, but as were seeing, even they don’t have a money pit and Nutella is asking for receipts :mjlol:

The idea of gamepass seemed genius when it was just there 5 studios and a bunch of 3rd party AA/Indie games being put on the service. Then they thought they could put actual AAA games on the service including CoD and the whole thing came tumbling down
