99 spurs have an * because under no circumstance is 50 games a full season.

Heat don't because they missed only 16 games. spurs missed twice as much.

Spurs haven't won a chip since 07. Phil and the Lakers won 2 Chips after Pop and the Spurs ended Phil and the Lakers run.

Lakers lottery team, Phil swept out the 1st round in disgrace to end his coaching career, Pop still wining COTY

What does the Lakers being a lottery team have to do with Phil?? Phil and the Lakers have won 2 Chips in the last 6 years while Pop and Spurs have won 0 Chips.

Phil's championship ladder...is built off the back of 4 of the greatest 30 players to ever play the game...:sas1::sas2:

How convenient that we all seem to forget what Phil accomplished as a coach WITHOUT these players :sas1::sas2:

How convenient that Phil is never around when a team has to rebuild :sas1::sas2:

Yet somehow Pop has coached the Spurs for 18 years and only had to rebuild in his first year :sas1::sas2:

Pop is still competing for titles right now...still winning coach of the year awards right now :sas1::sas2:

Phil is going to spend the summer groveling for a fat, overweight, ball stopping undersized power forward who has never won anything to stay on his team :sas1::sas2:

Pop built an organization and a dynasty...and the spurs are a dynasty, you don't compete for titles for 17 years, win 4, and NOT be a dynasty :sas1::sas2:

Phil just stepped in and moved some furniture around :sas1::sas2:

No MJ you stand here and Pippen you stand here...perfect, now we can win :sas1::sas2:

No Kobe you stand here and Shaq you stand here...perfect, now we can win :sas1::sas2:

Phil could have won more rings... :sas1::sas2:

But he wasn't good enough to keep Shaq and Kobe together...:sas1::sas2:

Had two all time greats in their primes on one team...and let one of them walk :sas1::sas2:

You think Pop let's an all time great walk :sas1::sas2:

Timmy says no...David Robinson says no...Timmy was oh so close to going to Orlando with Mcgrady and Grant Hill but Pop wouldn't allow that to happen :sas1::sas2:

Pop got 2 former assistants head coaching gigs this year just off the strength of them being "under the tutelage of Pop" :sas1::sas2:

How many coaches under Phil went on to be head coaches :sas1::sas2:

Phil or Pop/ You can make great case for either one being better...BUT you broke it down with intelligence and scholarship.:patrice:

If you looking just at Rings...it's Phil...if you looking at Building and maintaining an organization...It's Pop...

I think building a Dynasty is more about sustained ability to compete for titles than just a short run of title wins...there is a tremendous fall off after that run...

I'm also of the mind that your success is also determined by the success of the people around you...whatever Phil is...he sure as hell is not a teacher...cause his assistant coaches haven't amounted to much...took Shaw how long to get on as a coach and he did what in Denver?

By the way...Phil ever win without Tex Winters...:sas1::sas2:

Pop has also been the GM and Head of basketball operations for the spurs...in case you were wondering :sas1::sas2:

and Shaq not playing D and rebounding or working hard to get block to block, Shaq getting tired in the 2nd half, Malone going down or just the Pistons being the better team.
