I don't take responsibility for what?

:patrice:

I can place the blame where the blame belongs and still handle my business.

I'm not taking responsibility for something that I didn't create, that's foolishness.
No your not taking responsibility because honestly it gets to a point where its like ok we get it but what are you going to do to improve your situation? Even if these things happened still happen there have also been examples of success in the same climate so you have to get to moving. That's just how I feel and y'all can disagree all you want but this worrying about things the white man do etc will just keep you from making moves a majority of the time. I know cats that's all they do. No matter what its the system, white man, somebody else but themselves and if you coddle people like this no good can come from this.

I'm not taking responsibility because I'm saying the same facts over and over and you're tired of hearing it repeated? that somehow equals me not taking responsibility?

:patrice:

Once again, people can place the blame with the people actually responsible and STILL improve their own situation, it's not a "one or the other" situation. I know you're tired of hearing about "the white man", and that's cool, but one thing that's certain is, we wouldn't be hearing about "the white man" if our communities and people weren't intentionally destroyed by "the white man".

i respect black ppl that keep it real without the dumb sh1t than the ones who on that suit and tie sh1t that think they're better than the rest.

i am a business owner and don't dress flashy (be it dressy or street). in fact, i under dress all the time. my wardrobe is :flabbynsick:. but that's nerd swag for ya.

street niccas dress way better than me. in fact some of the sh1t they wear make me :wtf:. even the sh1t ppl wear to church me :wtf::whew:.
Yeah my swag catches people off guard when they realize, I'm probably way more articulate in the I convey myself than they are....

Honestly this is the kind of progress I like to see in the black community. This actually gives me a lot of high hopes for us. Once we have mainstream guys like pharrell (and I believe ja-rule?) speak out on these issues, we can start having an honest dialogue.

I know there was some rapper that recently spoke out against the violence in our neighborhoods. I forgot who it was but I think it was for a joint conference for trayvon martin and some other kid that got shot.
