I’ve only listened to it once & I’m pretty sure Pete Rock studied “BE” for this album because it’s seems like a perfect sequel to it but with Pete Rocks own flava.

Great album & it’s easily going to be up there at the end of the year as 1 of the best albums of 2024.

With the album being called Vol.1 & seeing the chemistry between the 2 on tracks, interviews & podcasts etc I wouldn’t be surprised if they begun recording Vol.2.

I'm really liking some of his wordplay. Even making laugh a little but. And Soul Brotha is Soul Brotha. "Stellar" beat is so simple but so dope.

I was a little bit worried about Pete's production on this album because his production (And mixing) on Retropolitan was a little flat on that album.

But on this album Pete was in his bag on this.

This album lived up to my expectations.

 

[Apollo Kid]

This album is just pure joy. Six tracks in and they've all been great. I miss those interlude beats Pete did.

This album literally gives me the same feeling I had the first time I listened to Be.

This is BEAUTIFUL MUSIC. There’s no other way to describe it. This is one of those albums where if Aliens invaded earth, put a raygun to your head and demanded to know what Hip Hop is you’d simply press play and let them vibe to it.
