Punchline rap doesn't hold up well at all.

This is coming from somebody who loved punchline raps in the 2000s, but some of that shyt sounds so :scust: now

This! Wayne fell the fukk off when he became a punchline rapper, fabolous has been corny for the past 10 years cause he's still a punchline rapper, Joe budden stopped that shyt cause he admitted the punchlines that age well.

When a trash rapper gets a dope beat.
Rapping off beat.
When a rapper I like ruins a song by adding a trash feature.

People who feel that an artist is a machine and suppose to spit out albums like clockwork. Not realizing , these guys have lives, etc. shyt REALLY irritates me to see comments "like yeah well get the album.....but it'll be 2021".

Or it's about time when a album that was talked about Gets a release date.

Let an artist work his magic.

When you want an artist to be like Drake with production you need ghostwriters. Jay had literally the hottest producers ever so that’s why he was able to but that’s it. Best artist take time.

"Fans" who literally nitpick at everything and dont understand the business side of things. Or the one who think they they're A&Rs and know what's best for the artist better than the artist/producer know themselves.Theres alot that goes into a Project . Trust you dont want to deal with the particulars.

Sometimes speaking critically about an artist is a big factor.

A common one is fans thinking they an artist is suppose to venture into say podcasting. Actually in a way this is a good marketing tactic in regards to further putting yourself out there. People will gravitate towards an artist. Even in terms of acting. A guy like Freddie Gibbs just got a placement in a upcoming movie.

β€’One thing some people need to understand is that the music industry isnt necessarily a "fast flip". Even when you have the proper budget --- which could be anywhere from 100-150,000 in order to make your money back quickly. Most artist have to Drop alot of music and it can take anywhere from 1 year to 2 years to really bubble and get show money. A artist may be different and have a slew of hit records , but you can simply observe and see that most artist dont have that happen. Time, effect, grind is definitely need to get to point where

● people know your name
●people know your music
● And most importantly start to embrace you by spending money to your making anywhere from 10-20,000 a month.

Even with understanding being on a major vs Independent. With a major it doesnt take that long is it does an independent. With a major you may have to past out multiple projects before folks know who you are.

With mixtapes you would put out 2-3 mixtapes usually before people start really jumping on the bandwagon of an artist. Understanding how things are today it's more of singles market. The way most fans consume music is through songs.. Playlists like Rap Caviar. As independent artist it's difficult to get on something like a major playlist (not impossible though). If you have a decent buzz it's possible. Stuff like that has to be add through Spotify algorithms which to my knowledge isnt easy. If you're an artist your going to have to put time in. Drop enough quantity Music that fans know you. I dont think some understand it's a costly industry. You going to put Music out probably a year and a half minimum before people embrace who you are. Nothing fast about it. By things beings oversaturated you're going to really have to get behind your Music. Think bigger than your town.
