BTW, NOBODY has a market like Apple. They can drop bullshyt and still move millions because they have an extremely high standard (for the most part)

Let's be honest here...the last real solid console from Nintendo was the N64 which was released 16 years ago.

No Nintendo will not be the factor it was in the previous generation from a home console standpoint, but it doesn't matter. The Wii-U will likely be much cheaper than the other 2 systems which is good for parents, and if their lauch titles are good then they will continue to do well. Remember a lot the criticisms you guys had about the Wii were similar, and it didn't matter, ultimately. It alo doesn't matter, because Nintendo has the handheld market by the balls. The $$$ they made of the DS and will make of the 3DS, will carry it through 3 or 4 flops in the home console market.

The difference is that the wii is looked upon as a gimmicky device that really did not get the 3rd party support to make it something that people want to see a followup for. Apple on the other hand usually delivers and are the BEST when it comes to marketing.

The GameCube was my RE4 player after a while.

By the time their competitors hit the market Nintendo is already gonna have a solid base. Nothing against Microsoft or Sony but i fail to see how they're ever gonna catch up. realistically we're probably gonna see these next crop of systems about two years from now. that's too long to leave Nintendo on the market alone for a console generation.

personally i'm lukewarm on Nintendo as a fan even though i plan to buy the Wii U but i think its hard to see how they don't take this. Sony and Microsoft kept dragging this console generation on for too long. we're like 7 years into it now and they haven't even announced successors yet officially.

i know the graphics snobs look at the Wii U and feel like its a last generation console but its probably gonna be received as the most popular console of the next generation if for nothing else the fact that it got the ball rolling before the other competitors were more than a twinkle in their maker's eyes.

They are in a tough position because many people felt burned with the Wii and I just don't see the hardcore gamer accepting middling gimmicky bs party games again. I think its a bad strategy for Nintendo as anything past the N64 was heavily focused on 4 player games...they are not even letting you buy an extra controller from the jump. I see a big holiday season for them and then a FAST FAST drop.

Microsoft is giving the casuals what they want with the Kinect.
realistically when is Microsoft gonna get out another piece of hardware? the early talk is 2014. that's just too long to leave Nintendo sitting alone on the market. the Wii U is more than likely gonna have cheaper development cost than its competitors and they'll likely be well between 10-20 million consoles sold before anything from Sony or Microsoft hits the market. by the time Microsoft hits the ground the Wii U will be killing them in price and value.

Nintendo is talking a good talk, abolishing friend codes and having an real online service. i know the graphical ceiling is probably slightly better than what we have now but if they give me a Xenoblade quality game that's in HD and i won't complain.

the real test is third parties and the hardcore gaming crowd. i'll admit if the Wii U wasn't the first 8th gen console to market i'd probably hold off on buying it a while but i'm just ready for something new.the stuff they're doing like with that game ZombiU (which is third party) looks interesting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_U_games

Im looking at the titles and the list is :flabbynsick:

Most of these "exclusives" arent really exclusives only re-relases of games from other systems. Rest of games (besides played out zeldas and marios) will be availible to ps3/360 anyways so why the fukk would I buy this shyt? :scusthov:

youre talking perfect sense to me, but apple's audience is a perfect testament to the fact that simple logic doesnt apply. zillions are buying the same shyt over and over. you better believe that nintendo will have a healthy lead because of it. you cant sensibly expect them to have a repeat of the wii, because that would mean they didnt learn from it

these guys have never played the same game and sony as microsoft. its always been the other way around if anything

Breh Nintendo learning anything? Must I remind you about the state of their online setup in 2012? All that shyt shown in demos LOOKS promising, but this is Nintendo...they WILL find a way to fukk it up. I don't trust them anymore.

I really don't see them getting that casual market like they did with the Wii. Most people who bought stopped playing it after a few months. It'll start off fast this holiday season but I think it's gonna drop fast after that.

I also expect Microsoft & Sony to at least announce new systems at E3 next year and I think they both will have the WiiU looking last gen.

I think Nintendo may be waiting for M$ and Sony to draw their cards out first and then :stylin:on them by revealing Zelda, Mario and Smash Bros WiiU all at once. It'd be a pipe dream but I think people are at least curious as to how these games will look with modern-ish hardware.

As for Nintendo Network, I just hope it's as seamless and trouble free as PSN at least. Well that sounds like an understatement because the Vita is on par with XBL feature wise minus apps obviously.

PS4 and 720 reveals will be great but they'd better have real time demo's and footage of future games so people can see what they've been cooking. I really am at the point where I REALLY feel like I can't be amazed by graphics any more. Uncharted 3, God of war 3, The Last of US has shocked me graphically that I just end up seeing newer consoles with these games at higher resolutions with no jaggies and 60FPS.
