I mean even as slow as Square Enix is they put out Final Fantasy XV in 2016 and in 2023 there will be XVI which was announced in 2020. The only real other thing I'd maybe compare to this was GTA 6 but RDR 2 came out between them and GTA 5 is an online cash cow.

Final Fantasy XVI is the real Final Fantasy XV breh. FF Versus XIII was announced in 2006

Persona 5 was a PS3 game. Seems like we will be lucky to see Persona 6 before the PS5 ends. GTA has the excuse of GTA online printing money. Persona is a single player game with none of that so I just don't see their excuse. They used to make games in the series much quicker than this.
