It gets cold in Reno in the winter and snows. It's at a high ass elevation...
I love Reno and would live there if it weren't so close to Sacramento, which for me, is the absolute best thing about Reno: only 2 hours from Sacramento, where it doesn't freeze or snow. It's just too close to Sac, why would I move there when I can just go to Sacramento...
But Reno has plenty of wonderful attributes on its own, it's a cool ass city!

I might just visit and see. I wanna go to the bay but I feel if I do, I won't ever leave. And I like to travel. My kiddo is in NV, so it would make it easy to see her without leaving the state, too.
I just need a fair amount of physical activities and a decent food scene.

Where would you be moving from?
Reno is in the mountains so there is an abundance of outdoor recreation. It also has a fair amount of entertainment options in general, but, it is small. If being in a smaller city doesn't bother you, it's cool...

There's also seemingly more black people there than stated. The Census says Reno is only ~3% black, but I feel like it's at least twice that. It's not one of these places where it would be unusual to see black faces outside, I got that in Boise and El Paso. Reno doesn't have that dynamic, clearly we aren't anything close to a majority there but it's not a city where seeing black faces is shocking...
You'll see black people out and about every day...

I came back to PA but Vegas is my home. I'm just not sure if I can handled living there anymore. I mean, I can. But it wouldn't be peaceful. I'm getting too old.plus I like to hike and be in nature when Im not doing stand up.

Check out Reno, you may like it. It's different from Vegas, in the sense that it's much smaller, it gets much colder, far fewer Black people...
But it's also similar in a way, like a "mini-Vegas" in the sense of street entertainers and 24/7 casino culture. It's not round the clock like Vegas but it's familiar enough, I think you'd know what I mean if you visit...
