They’re generally known as a pretty good developer. Have survived decades when lots of other teams are long gone and have been successful as a support studio, I’m not sure what else to tell you.

Insomniac is a known quality who actually delivers. And they're about to put out a brand new title later this year.
The Initiative were nothing but smoke and mirrors and hype. They never delivered a single game and they lost control of this one.
People are going to have a different understanding for a developer who constantly delivers vs one who couldn't even get their first game out the door.
You should be happy that a competent developer stepped in to clean up this mess. It will probably turn out better now.

You can’t be a “bad developer” and still be around all these years.
They have a long history of really good games.
I feel this is the danger of marketing a game too early. If the game turns out good, then the mess will be forgotten, but if it's mid then this will be remembered. Microsoft got greedy and made a mistake in marketing this game too early because they should've waited when they knew the direction they were going. Anyways, I still have faith this game will score 80+MC and I still rate Crystal Dynamic.
