If Noah/Rose reunite in NY ....... basketball Gods arent leaving me much of a choice of what I need to do next season

Breh, there's always a home for you here. :blessed:

Im hearing other teams were wanting us to include a 1st with him :damn:

but Ill say this ... those other cities arent NY and probably a bit shook Rose will leave them next summer. Knicks must want to keep him long term and I think Rose would love to live in NY

I think this is a reset. And if Rose plays well, then they'll consider keep him. But more likely, it'll be things like "Hey Russell Westbrook, if we did THAT with Rose, imagine what we could do with YOU." Even though, obviously we have no shot at him. I just think THAT'S what's happening here.

This move has a LOT of ass-covering built in:
  • If Rose breaks again, the team tanks, and we get a nice lottery pick (and maybe melo has had enough).
  • If he plays well, you can use that to attract some free agents, even if you can't get stars, you can get some solid guys that want to come to a competitive nyk teams.
  • No matter what, the Knicks are starting this season with a better point guard, probably Melo and KP at their best positions, and there's nothing but flexibility ahead.

Galloway>>>>grant. I honestly don't think grant will ever reach rose status even 2016 rose is better than jerian's ceiling.

Yeah, but who cares. If we're being honest, Rose was a league average pg last season. Middle-10 on the curve. I don't think it's crazy to believe that Grant could be come a league average pg. We're not trading for rose to replace Grant, you're giving up Grant and Lopez to 1) Shed Cap, 2) Grab a Derrick Rose lottery ticket.

It's early, we have to see what they do in the draft and in free agency still -- but right now, they are ATROCIOUS defensively, no matter how you build out the starting 5. a

I see a lot of people are overrating Jerian Grant. I like him, he had potential, but another Grant-like player is easy to find in the late stages of the draft or in the NBDL, not a big loss.

And for the people comparing Rose to Penny/TMac on the Knicks, Penny was 33 years old & a throw-in in the Marbury deal. TMac was 31. Rose is only 27.

The Pelicans did try quick as hell to compete, that's why they've been:francis:

Trade a lotto pick (Noel) for injury prone Jrue Holiday
Sign Tyreke Evans
Match Eric Gordon's contract even though he doesn't wanna be there and is injury prone

They rushed it
Yeah but even way back then you knew those guys weren't taking you over the hump. They know now is the time to surround AD with some real talent that can help him make some noise.

Yeah I want either biyombo or horford in the FA. Either way rose is probably 5 times more valuable than calderon. Jose was the worst starting point guard in the nba.
