Just a Kid From Chicago
Got texts from various people while at work breaking the news to me.... Damn near got me fired because it was clear that my mind was elsewhere after hearing this....

First of all, to my Bully brehs. I've always held out hope that one day I would be able to eat with the people that I've long starved with for years. That's what kept me going - hoping that throughout the struggle, throughout the incompetence over these past several years, that there was in fact a utopia waiting for us all at the end..... The writing has long been on the wall that this will never happen under this regime , but instead, I continued to try to be the slightest bit optimistic of where the franchise could head. Not anymore. I simply can't fukk with this team until Garpax is gone.

Thibs was the fall guy for last year. It was Rose's turn this year, and I have no doubt that Yimmy is next after he inevitably breaks down next season trying to carry bums playing 45 minutes a game. Then Hoi trash ass will be next.... You see the pattern here. None of this falls on Garpax. They've proven to be teflon and above being accountable for what they've turned us into. I can't ride with this any longer.

To Knick fans. Listen..... We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way:

Regardless, I'll be in your threads stanning (I'll be an asset to you if I may say so myself :ehh:). All of these dudes and their corny ass jokes saying that Rose is finished, clearly didn't watch him closely. Y'all raped the Bulls, and got more than a capable, productive player that's going to be balling out as he's in his contract year....

Derrick was conveniently let off of this Titanic that is the Bulls franchise... It's only right for a Rose to rise in the Garden.

I'll be at the United Center EVERY TIME the Knicks play the Bulls next season with my Rose "Just a kid from Chicago" shirt rooting for him & the Knicks to beat the Bulls asses. I'll be doing the same thing for Thibs when he comes in with the young budding Wolves....

I'm done dealing with this shyt.

Why are people calling Robin Lopez a terrible contract?

Do y'all see what capable Bigs are getting paid and what they'll command with the cap going up? Robin Lopez' current contract is a bargain if not a steal.

This is not a win at all for the Knicks aside from getting rid of Calderon.

Knicks keep repeating the same mistakes they've made forever. They should be looking for young players to build around Porzingus for the future and should be trying to convince Melo accept a trade. Trading for a washed up D-rose and giving up Grant just doesn't make sense to me. This franchise is content with selling hope to it's fans. I feel bad for Knicks fans because it's never going to get better like this.

This move didn't prevent that at all... so I'm not sure what point you're making. The Knicks still have 30 mil in cap space to make moves and the only young player they gave up was Jerian Grant, who is still a project as well. Plus Rose could be gone next year if he doesn't pan out and they'd still have 40-50 (and possibly 60) mil to spend in free agency.

i've only seen one person call it a bad contract regarding lopez...
he's a solid player...nothing worth losing sleep over however...
how is this a loss.....we didnt give up a future pick...for a possible rental for a chance at having literally only 3 contracts on the books for 2017.
how can you spin that as an L
grant is gonna be a decent pro in the league....but he's not gonna be an all star...i dont see that potential in him
you arent mortgaging your future whatsoever with this deal.

I totally understand the cap dump.......That's a win. I'm not going to argue with that.

But still to me, losing Jerian Grant who has the potential to be a real rotation player is just a bad look to me.. The goal should be developing players like that, not benching them, then trading them for vets that will be well into their 30's and have no trade value by the time KP is ready to contend;.

I get taking a gamble but I personally think Rose is a corpse (16/4/4 on 13.5 PER 47 TS% 0.96 PPP -4.27 RAPM (81 out of 85 PG)) and it feels like trading for Rose is going to lead them to signing Dwight/Noah and someone else to a huge contract when they really would be best tanking. Trying to convince Melo getting rid of him is best and preparing for a future with KP.
