People who don't understand the significance of Superman not killing!

Fell down the Youtube rabbit hole. Got into a back and forth with a couple of DCMU fan's. The crux of their argument was basically. "Superman should kill. His foes are generally insanely powerful warlords, or very powerful beings who have no issue with doing so" basically WHY Should Superman have to live up to the same standards as his foes.

This is the thing. Superman is basically a GOD. The simplest way I could put this is when Superman decides to kill, whether it be a super powered threat, The head of a major conglomerate trying to take over the world through political and financial clout etc...

HE WOULD BECOME A THREAT IN THE EYES OF HUMANITY!!!

Superman isn't beholden to any laws. any country/government, or any military.

He can do pretty much what the fukk he wants to. WHEN he want's to.

You cannot have superman murdering people. villains or otherwise.

that's bs. The Punisher kills. and we can understand why he does it. And nobody ever shyts on the punisher for doing so. In comics where Batman kills people get it as well.

Batman does certain things in context but he doesn't believe in killing even to a more extreme level than almost all other anti heroes or super heroes.

And Punisher isn't a Super Hero or even an anti hero. He's a straight up villain who fukks up other villains and fukks with certain folk that make him appear clean (Nick Fury, Avengers, ect).

Nah Captain Marvel (Shazam) does it better.

Superman came up in a good environment with adoptive parents to show him the way and used his powers to excel

Billy was a orphan in the streets, and when he got his powers he could have became like black Adam but he didn't he choose to do good. He represents a child's innocence and blind loyalty to be a good civil servant ( like what a little kid thinks of when they say they want to be a police or fire fighter) even after going through circumstances that would make the average person go crazy.


Also for flying bricks it would be easy to kill, all superman, Shazam, Wonder Woman would have to do is throw them out of orbit and then they automatically die. Or they can just blitz them to pulp. It's not only about not killing it's more about damage control and saving civilians.

I don't have a problem with Batman killing. Because he's still a man. he could kill his entire rogue gallery and he'd just be locked away as a psychopath. Superman could raze entire cities to the ground. there is no comparison.

It did make him public enemy number 1... Kinda how that story went in BvS and in MOS where he was FORCED to kill because of Zod and didn't intentionally destroy the city


And didn't he kill in the old movies too
