I miss 2001. Even back then I knew I would. I felt like Fred in A Hole in the World. "Why can't I stay?"

I didn't know the 90s was the

Golden Era

Hip Hop is my religion so the heyday of the real shyt is my Heaven. But things were just more real. It was the peak of culture itself

When it came to black expression (TV presence and clothing), the 90s were GOAT. Beyond that I'll take the 80s all day. 80s had better music, cartoons, movies, videogames, etc.

I kinda agree
The first half seemed cool
The 2nd half is when the somewhat downfall started

the music and movies got worse but 97-99 are my favorite years of the 90s. The easy-going chill vibe in America at the time hasn't been matched since. Early 90s was peak gang violence, Rodney King, gangsta rap, crime bill.

late 90s was neo soul, No-Limit records and Ruff Ryders, Outkast dropped Aquemini, PlayStation, a lot of people got on the internet for the first time, The Matrix, Blade, There's something about Mary, 99 cent whoopers at burger king, super soakers. America had a budget surplus and it felt like EVERYBODY had money in that era. :blessed:

Talking to family members will show that if you were born in the mid-late 60s you had the best life. Living through the style & entertainment of the 70s-90s and even the early 00s is the GOAT experience. I don't see anything from post 2010 outside of the early smartphones being remembered fondly decades from now.

why you nikkas so obssessed with the past?:gucci:
People pine for Nostalgia but are actually pining for a time before their innocence was lost and before they had bills and responsibilities. It literally makes people say anything. You'd think there weren't any trash rappers back in the day if you let people tell it. You'd think kids never acted out and everybody listened to their parents all the time. You'd think there was zero problems with drugs.

People with a straight face act like 90s rap wasn't full of drug and gun use references. I read a post on here that said there was a balance of conscious/gangsta rap throughout the 90s. What kinda revisionist bullshyt is that? By 91/92 conscious rap was on the way out of the door.

I immediately tune folks out when they start that Back In My Day bs because people just say anything. Literally any thing it doesn't have to make a lick of sense.

My favorite is "back in my day we threw hands, nowadays these kids shooting"

As if the same things weren't being said to us daily and the numbers show that actually back in the day folks were even more trigger happy than they are today.

People were definitely pulling guns back then.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven

Nah that ain't it.. Because nobody in here is acting like that. If you look at most responses, it's comparing THINGS. Music, movies, tv, clothing, entertainment, the invention of the internet, etc etc etc

While the technology is BETTER now.. I'd say pretty much everything else was better in the 90s. Just pick a category you think is better now and we can have that discussion

Clothing and gaming definitely is better now. Only thing I think you can make a contrary argument is saying resellers killed the sneaker game.
