Went to one of the malls in my city to see if I could find a pair of running shoes because I just got a new pair of Air Jordan 6's from Flight Club so I didn't want to mess those up. Anyway I usually do most of my clothing and shoe shopping online but I wanted to go running today and didnt want to mess up my new Jordan's, so I decided to go out to the mall today. instead ofwaiting to have the shoes shipped to me So I went to the mall and it was extremely packed. It was probably mostly teens in there. I swear if you came to my city you would think there no Mexicans, living here because it seems like the only time you see any Mexicans is at Walmart, working at McDonald's or at Construction sites, but there were a lot of Mexicans shopping at the mall today. They say America's malls are dying but you would think they're full of it , if you went to the mall I was st today. But I do remember reading an article that was saying members of Generation Z are more likely to do their shopping at the mall then online compared to Millennials who do most of their shopping online.

Most of them are dying out. There used to be alot more malls it seems. Or at least they used to plan alot more malls. Now it seems, if the mall isn't state of the art, or if it isn't a huge tourist draw, it usually isn't packed most days, if any. I seen plenty of dead malls. And I'd wander through pondering how they're making any money.

Malls still get packed if the temperature outside is freezing. Went to the mall Friday when the high was 34 degrees, and it was the most packed I've personally seen a mall in a long time.

It’s not about people it’s about the retail space :yeshrug:

sure it was probably a lot of people in the mall. But it doesn’t mean they were spending a ton of money, it doesn’t mean the mall is their primary means of shopping, it doesn’t change the fact that the overhead to have a brick and mortar space makes it so hard to compete with Amazon, and mostly the death of the mall will continue with the convenience of online shopping. Sites like M Taylor are going to change the game in the next few years when you won’t even need to try on anything in person anymore :manny:

I think alot retail spots just overextended themselves and need to contract. Small city may have not actually needed 2 malls , or 4 towns within 20 minutes of each other probably didn't all need separate malls , you didn't need 3 Gas stations on the same street, 2 Grocery stores in the same shopping Plaza, etc...
