You can work 20 years somewhere in corporate America and never get promoted to manager and someone less qualified with 5 years experience will be hired in from the outside to be your boss cause they got a referral from a golfing buddy of the ceo. Happens everyday. I make great money and only reason I'm in the position I'm in now is cause an older black man who was a sr director took a chance on me years ago when I convinced him to see my potential during an informal meeting. I got fast tracked into management cause he was high up in the company.

Jay is not a billionaire from just being an entertainer. This is stupidity. The real question is why you dont respect the accomplishments of the few "heroes" that we do have. Calling a guy who owns and runs some of the most successful companies in sports, marketing, entertainment , liqour, music, and streaming services just an entertainer is a gross understatement.

Believe it or not a lot of wealthy successful people like helping people. It's really hard to get to them directly though. Especially undivided attention and a private sit down. Normally you gotta go through layers of people under them. Sending an email to a hiring manager at roc nation or tidal or dusse ain't much of an ask for Jay if he like you. What you bring to the table and how you sell yourself is on you. There is always room for smart qualified people on a team.

Whats getting lost in this is that time and money are valauable. If a check of 50K is cut to me, i saved time and my value went up.

Jay started Rocafella cuz he had the talent and ability to survive in his industry. Can't just give anyone a dinner with Jay-z if they not skilled in business already or have the money to build something. Nobody gonna buy a product if the person making it doesn't look like they know what they're doing. Jay can tell me how to create a song, how to break up the verses and bars, how to set up a beat, etc. And if I can't rap, then what good does that do me? Now obviously thats not saying much cuz of some of the rappers out there but they not seeing Jay on longevity or finances anyways. Takes hard work to get to Jay level and a dinner isn't gonna guarantee that.

So much this. Peep this, we living in a age where investments are as easy as picking a nose.

Taking a portion of that 50k and flip it in stocks, while the rest can take care of the debt that's a nuisance. Then there's also certifications, online courses to help build your craft, and other ways of making the most out of that 50k than talking to a man who pretty much did the same with probably 5k .
