I got a backlog of classic TV series' I missed out on from early 2010s, I'm watching now. I got a backlog of ps3, ps4 games to complete. I got a book shelf of books I need to read too. I'm hitting the gym too

My lady always wants to hang out whenever our schedules are free. I got homies & family I aint seen in ages that I need to hang out with.

I can never be bored.
This is more how I see it.

People have an ENDLESS and IMMEDIATE access to anything they want.

How is boredom possible?

Not too much good shyt to watch anymore, especially shows that make you wanna keep your eyes glued to the TV these days, and for a lot of people, after they've done binge-watching all the classic and cable TV prestige type shows, they start running out of shyt to watch.

Lately, for the past few months, I've been rewatching the same shows over and over again; for example, these are some of my favorites: The Wire, Oz, The Shield, The Walking Dead, Justified, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Power (spin-offs included) and a few others.

I think I'm going to start binge-watching SVU from season 1 onwards, just so I have something good to watch and be focused on; plus, I've never seen every episode in the beginning seasons. The same goes for movies. My favorite genre is horror, especially found footage, so I've seen all the classics in that genre, but now I'm scrambling to find missing gems just to experience something different after watching the well-known revered ones.

I don't think it's soo much that people are bored or tired of streaming services but rather running out of options in terms of great shows to watch, obviously, everybody's tastes are different but a lot of people getting tired of rewatching the same shyt cause it ruins that experience you had with these shows when it first aired.

The Truth
Quantity over quality :yeshrug:

On top of that, forced ads on paid streaming services making it less interesting.

Games have transitioned to micro-transactions and pushing out unfinished products

Etc… greed has made shyt no longer fun or interesting to do

I'd like to add that it isn't that quality everywhere has gone down. There are still good shows, games, movies etc. People are overstimulated in the sense that hopping from media to media causes you to be less and less stimulated each time you see it in a short amount of time.
You know what made weekly shows so good in retrospect? The fact you had to wait to see what happens. Now you can binge a whole season in a few hours. There's no build up or anticipation.
It's like watching porn. If you watch porn everyday for 2 hours eventually it's not gonna hit. But if you stopped for a week then came back and watched the same shyt it gonna hit way harder. Your brain needs time to reset. That's why we need to limit our time in front of screens and have other hobbies that involve outdoors and activities mixed in with the entertainment on our screens. Our brains crave novelty and become to used to a stimulus over time. So we have to artificially make things become novel for us.

It's the same shyt as always.......mufukkas entitled......too many options leads to indecision and with everybody thinking they better than everybody else they feel they can make better or should be seeing better.......cut the options and really see what nothing looks like.......they would be suicidal

I have 3 streaming services and still resort to YouTube. YouTube’s days are numbered too, the number of adds is downright insulting. Not only that, the person doing the video more often than not does some kind of read for their own personal sponsors.

It’s exhausting.

I honestly enjoy the different apps.

Wife and I still have ol skool cable along with Netflix, Paramount+, Max, Prime etc.

Sometimes we watch regluh azz TV shows like Law & Order SVU or Abbott. Then when we stream, we alternate between shyt I like (Top Boy, Gangs of London, Supacell etc) and shyt she likes (Bridgerton etc).

We both play video games AND we both like to read...so there's a limit to how much TV we watch.

There's lots of good shyt out there. If you're bored, you might need to start reading more books or get a hobby.
