It is weird that a so called 'black' forum is hating on another black man in leadership, with the only reason given being that he's 'bougee.' :mjpls:
:heh: It's always fun to see specific posters try and dismiss issues with Jefferies as non-ideological. It gives a good insight into how the so called "centrists" see the world.

Hakeem got some Liberals and Republicans shook already. Let's go. You all know seeing a Brother at the top is triggering for this Country. I think Nancy is passing the torch to him because she knows the Generational voting shifts have already happen. 45 and under will dominate the future of the Country and he's young enough to lead the way going forward. Hakeem also don't play and isn't afraid to fight back.

:wow:
Why would liberal be shook?
No one will challenge Joe if he runs. This isn't a Jimmy Carter situation. What is the argument for running against him besides his age? I wish he would bow out because of it but other than that, what is the basis?
Why would anyone want Biden to bow out?

It’s funny since this forum mostly in TLR but some in here have been running with the narrative that the Democratic Party has been trying to phase out black men

I mean this may not mean anything to people domestically but Hakeem is as in the pocket of AIPAC as any Democratic leader that I have seen.

It absolutely means things domestically, because it results in us taking resources we should be using here and shipping it to a Nazi/apartheid country, so they can murder Palestinians.

When we ask for healthcare, we're suddenly poor. When Israel asks for more guns to murder children, the shipments leave the dock before anyone is finished reading the request. That doesn't even go into the amount of aid we give them. That country is fukking garbage.

Also, AIPAC has shifted their money to Republicans and right wing Democrats to stop the tide of progressives who criticize them. It then has ramifications on who we have to vote for policies here. But again, that’s no different than Pelosi.

This just isn't true. We don't have nice things, not because we can't afford them.

It's because nearly half this country votes for people who are opposed to it for ideological reasons that have nothing to do with budgets.

It's far past time to stop playing into this either or fallacy of conservatives.

I think you misunderstood my message my dude, the "were poor" part was the lie they tell

Not to mention that blaming the GOP for a lack of universal healthcare in this country is a false narrative. Democrats share plenty of the blame there as well.

The opening and closing lines of your rant suggest we are suffering from a scarcity of resources.

It also presumes that if we don't send humanitarian or military aid to other countries we will then have the resources for use here.

The reality is, we could cut US defense spending by 30% and the end result would be us raising it again over the next decade -- the same as we saw with police here locally.

Once again and repeat, you clearly misunderstood what I was saying. Please stop trying to start an argument over nothing. Especially since, as a leftist, you know I don't actually believe we suffer from scarcity of resources. If you want to argue, there are plenty of people to do it with.

I'm not going to engage you in an argument because you don't get what I'm saying.

You've shown yourself to have an extraordinary ability to fukk up and not understand what people are saying in MANY threads. The poster I was speaking to understood what I was saying just fine.
They didn't even dap you :heh:

Your thesis suggested that AIPAC donations to dems matter domestically because

It absolutely means things domestically, because it results in us taking resources we should be using here and shipping it to a Nazi/apartheid country, so they can murder Palestinians.
The bolded I drew exception to because by and large house members (this thread is about house leadership) have by and large supported an expansion of our social safety net. We've seen them fail in the Senate, but it had nothing to do with AIPAC and entirely because all Republicans voted against it and Manchin and Sinema still believe in the welfare queen.

The italicized portion is true, but I don't think that's a domestic issue, but a foreign policy issue.

Not to mention that blaming the GOP for a lack of universal healthcare in this country is a false narrative. Democrats share plenty of the blame there as well.

1 democrat blocked it -- Joe lieberman. So no they don't.

But this hyperbolic both sides routine is your schtick because if it ain socialism then it's wrong by your standards.

FYI, the entire squad and progressives voted for Hakeem like I said they would.
Why wouldn't they?

Hakeem Jeffries is literally a member of the progressive caucus. Caucus members openly bragged about having one of their own in leadership.
