ya'll smoking crack rocks if you think they will ever put a Super Bowl in Las Vegas :laff:
Money always talks. Idk if it'll happen anytime soon but I wouldn't say never. Fantasy football just might be the juice needed to make gambling acceptable.

I believe the stadium will be owned by the public and not adelson...so the revenues will comeback to the city...that stadium will host some huge events...you can't compare a stadium of this magnitude in Vegas with other cities sans LA or NY....the kinds of events that will be attracted here will create revenues for everyone....for the valet ...the cabbie...the ticket writers etc...that stadium also will be home for unlv football so theres another benefit to our city right there....Nevada residents pay some of the lowest taxes in the country and having tourists pay .88 cents to bring an NFL team here sounds like a reasonable deal to me

Why should I care about attracting a lot of business and traffic if I'm a regular joe working a 9 to 5?

They should at least give these people a discount on tix
You shouldn't care. That's why I said the issue is such a wide radius.

how is it affecting the citizens? they can allocate that money for anything else, instead of some shyt the residents get no piece of. the benefit of a football stadium to las vegas residents is what? you get to go spend 100 bucks to park, another 100 on food, and 200 for a ticket 8 times a year? do the citizens get back the 40% they are allocating to build it by getting 40% of the parking profits? 40% of the concessions? 40% of the ticket sales on all events there? of course not. we are talking upwards of 2.1 billion for a city that struggles to yield a full time police force, and struggles to staff schools with enough teachers etc. :dead: @ how will spending that money on a fukking sports arena hurt a city. the t mobile was just built with 100% of the money privately funded. the city paid nary a cent to build it. they wont put this raiders shyt up for a vote because it wouldnt get close to passing. alwayys some bogus shyt like "youll get pride in having a team" "it will create a few hundred more jobs most of which are min wage and seasonal" etc. cities dont get dikk out of these arenas and stadiums, virtually all of them come in over budget and with lackluster or zero economic benefit to the region. they cant even talk about the other dumb stadium talking point about "revitalizing the area with bars/restaurants/other businesses" because the area is already one of the most successful bars/restaurant areas on the entire planet
I hear you about the schools and police....nevada has been on the bottom of the education rankings for a long time while the casino owners have been taking all benefits of being in vegas so we can have that discussion...there's a valid point to be made there...I think we can do both though...we can fund education and have tourists fund a stadium that will improve our economy....other cities do it all the time

you do realize that bond debt means the public is in hock for 30-40 years? they have to pay municipal fees for this and that and property taxes to support the payment of these bonds. public ownership sounds good but it's just a slick con job to enslave the taxpayers at the pleasure and profit of a billionaire owner/s and league.

a couple of examples from my neck of the woods where taxpayers woke up.

If you know anything about Vegas politics... Lets just say I'll believe it when I see it :francis:

That said, I hope it happens, even if I have to become a Raider fan :lolbron:

This is what i'm thinking.

I find it unlikely this will really happen. I really want them to come to LA, but it seems like the lame ass Chargers might come next year, because nobody in SD wants to foot the bill for a new stadium.

And Oakland can't foot the bill for a new stadium....so where the fukk do the Raiders go? They can't stay in that shythole coliseum forever.
