:camby: fukk that shyt. these billionarires want the citizens to subsidize 750 MILLION DOLLARS. why these cities bend over to accommodate these fukking dikks when theres actually very little gain in real dollars to the area of the new arenas is mind boggling
In Atlanta they passed a hotel/motel tax to cover a majority of "tax payer" cost on the Georgia Dome and MB Stadium.

I'm sure there are reasons I'm ignorant on but that would seem like a solution in Vegas.

fukking 750 million dollars...

Read that fine print

"Goldstein said the developers’ proposal is firm. The public would contribute $750 million — 39 percent of the project’s total cost — in the form of a hotel room tax. Las Vegas Sands is putting up at least $650 million, and the Raiders are committing $500 million."

A fairy tale.
The deal creates a 25 mile special tax zone in Clark County where EVERYONE will be taxed to REIMBURSE Sands and the Raiders ALL OF THEIR MONEY PLUS INTEREST!
They want taxpayers to pay for ALL OF IT!
The $750 million IS ONLY A DOWN PAYMENT!

In other words, some jew shyt.
Understand business... Their investment is an investment. Meaning it's purpose is to make them money. Them putting up that stadium is going to attract a lot of business and traffic. The issue is a 25-mile radius, hotel tax. That covers roughly 1,962.5 squared miles.

free for anybody spending a couple hundred dollars. You don't have to be a high roller to get comps at the casino.
Well, the high rollers will be in the suites.

hell yeah that would bring so much more...its already a tourist spot...I just want to know if the actual people who live there care enough about going to the games....I know its a lot of money going in and out but will they be a loyal fan base
Hate to see the Raiders leave Oakland but I think the NFL in Vegas can work. Its only 8 home games. The thing I worry about is that Vegas already has a steep tourist tax.. they're supposed to raise it for the $750 million for the stadium- but what if Vegas gets too expensive to visit? Its getting close. But alot of folks from LA to the Bay will fly in and a good chunk of the locals will be in the building.

As for the NHL hockey team in Vegas, that sh*t is going to be a massive failure imo. You have to have some type of loyal hockey following- fans that really love the game for that sh*t to survive. Football or hell even a NBA team in Vegas can work but a hockey team:why:

Why should I care about attracting a lot of business and traffic if I'm a regular joe working a 9 to 5?

They should at least give these people a discount on tix

I know im biased being a raiders fan and a las Vegas native but if you look at what is being proposed...how is an .88 cent tax on a hotel room affecting you or the people of las Vegas? ...the tourists will pay that shyt regardless...and this might be the only chance las Vegas ever has to get a football team...jerry jones and Robert Kraft have already voiced their support and mark Davis is committed to vegas

how is it affecting the citizens? they can allocate that money for anything else, instead of some shyt the residents get no piece of. the benefit of a football stadium to las vegas residents is what? you get to go spend 100 bucks to park, another 100 on food, and 200 for a ticket 8 times a year? do the citizens get back the 40% they are allocating to build it by getting 40% of the parking profits? 40% of the concessions? 40% of the ticket sales on all events there? of course not. we are talking upwards of 2.1 billion for a city that struggles to yield a full time police force, and struggles to staff schools with enough teachers etc. :dead: @ how will spending that money on a fukking sports arena hurt a city. the t mobile was just built with 100% of the money privately funded. the city paid nary a cent to build it. they wont put this raiders shyt up for a vote because it wouldnt get close to passing. alwayys some bogus shyt like "youll get pride in having a team" "it will create a few hundred more jobs most of which are min wage and seasonal" etc. cities dont get dikk out of these arenas and stadiums, virtually all of them come in over budget and with lackluster or zero economic benefit to the region. they cant even talk about the other dumb stadium talking point about "revitalizing the area with bars/restaurants/other businesses" because the area is already one of the most successful bars/restaurant areas on the entire planet
