I think he says he doesnt have any obligations for Showtime any more, so he's preparing now. The Danny Garcia fight was his last announcing job until after he fights Porter.


That's STILL only 5 weeks before the fight though

On top of that he appeared on St Patricks day broadcast at least two other Golden Boy live events and three major Showtime events including a Tuesday to Saturday week schedule. This is going on while Shawn Porter is with his dad in San Carlos training three times a day, just seems like a bad idea

i agree with this, to me the kid is like a big "mystery" at 147, i don't think the fight with devon tells us what he's all about. could he get better? but im excited about this fight personally. i think paulie is a LIVE dog in this fight.

Devon fought like he had a Mayweather match in the back of his mind, although I'm harsh on Devon that wasn't his A game.........................

You don't know how good it felt watching that hating ass Malignaggi get his ass kicked. Paulie made Porter look like a prime Tyson in that fight.

Malignaggi thought Manny was an average fighter. (Yet Manny's worst win is prolly better than Paulie's best win)

He thought he should have won against Broner and says dude fought laundry mat workers (yet proceeds to look like one during their fight)

He said Hatton is average and won't get away with holding and mauling in America. (Get hits with a monster hook in the 2nd rd and proceeds to hold Ricky for the rest of the fight)

Porter was supposed to be a prospect with nothing he hasn't seen before. (Well, we saw what happened there.)

Paulie has always been full of shyt, for someone who was just slightly above average (even in his prime.) I hope he continues to commentate from the sidelines and over analyze all the nikkas that are leagues above him. He's definitely not cut out to keep fighting all the prospects, laundry mat workers, and averages fighters out there because they make him look like the Espn/Shobox fighter he always was.

Yep, this was always a bad match up for Paulie.

I've been following Porter since his ShoBox days. Dude always had potential. He's solid all around. It's just that his style could be tightened up some more. He's still comes off sloppy or rough sometimes, but he still shows some skill and ring IQ so it's kinda evened out. He'll definitely improve tho.

I know cats shyt on him for the 1st Diaz fight, but that was his step up fight. Diaz ain't some scrub. His worst losses have come to elite guys at the time (Castillo, Juan Diaz) **** punches hard as fukk and got off his best shot. shyt happens. The same Diaz was giving a vet like Khan all he could handle. Besides Porter was pretty much giving Diaz the business for the 1st half. What he fukked up on was giving ground and back pedaling in the 2nd half when he didn't need to, but I think he got tired. That physical style of his is exhausting and usually better opponents have a way of bringing that out if you allow them too. That fight was no robbery. I had him winning closely, but the draw was cool. He rectified that in the rematch anyway.

Porter is still beatable if you counter consistently or manage to keep him fighting backwards.

As much as I respect Danny Garcia, he should steer clear from Porter. Porter's is all wrong for him. If Danny doesn't catch and hurt dude with the perfect shot coming in, he'll prolly be in for a long night.
