One difference is that country people are better at surviving, even with little money in their bank account. They can grow their own food.Why don't conservatives talk about poverty in rural areas? How's the negative "culture" there?
They know that's where the GOP base is (South & Appalachia)
Poor whites have this "I may be poor but I'm still better than a n!gger" mentality. It's an existential pathology, a need for superiority to compensate for their failures.
That's why they are the most racist folks around, so they vote republican (against their best interests)... Associating with poor blacks would be too painful for their egos.

that's how you grow society! we move all the menial jobs overseas.
even the poorest in the US have smartphones....it's a freaking luxury in a lot of countries. You really have to look at things globally and see that US poor is better off than the average person in a lot of countries. You still got people that can barely get clean drinking water out there....even the Evans family had clean drinking water in good times.
