This is a 3-5 point game, period! Anyone thinking Pats will blow Ravens out are delusional.

Or some one who is up a shyt load of money this year, and can afford to bet towards the odds that make the most money.. :ld:

(Tho, this thinking 9 times out of 10 ends in a hair cut)

so i posted that 4 days ago :ohhh:

Spreads fluctuate every hour. It's going to go up and down again. It was 9.5 earlier today at some books. Same shyt is gonna happen again today.

A lot of sharp money will come down on Pats, spread moves up, public pounds spread, moves again, rinse and repeat.

Yup, Vegas got what they wanted, money on the Ravens to balance the ledger. The Sharpe money should come in tonight and tomorrow. -8.5 is where it should settle.

Also @BuddyOmar, The Pats lines this year have been pretty lively. I have never seen a line move in one day like it did before the Pats Texans Monday night game, it was like a 3 point swing.

Opening at Pats -7.5 -8.0 to much money would roll in on the Pats. At -9.5 Vegas got money rolling in on the ravens like they wanted and the line should settle at Pats -8.5.

Yeah, every sportsbook on the planet got raped that monday night game. Vegas has been doing pretty shytty this football season. First time in many years the public has won as much as they have.

I recall wildcard weekend how easy it was for squares.

Ya, I was reading some where(might have heard it on the radio, cannot remember off the top of my head) that this is the worst year Vegas has ever had with the NFL. Which has been throwing off the spreads these playoffs.

I don't know if that is true. But judging by your post you know more about this stuff then me(I am a rec better). It just seems to be a weird year betting wise when it comes to the NFL. Lines have been bouncing a lot this year. Unlike any year I have ever seen. shyt I have stayed away from betting on the NFL b/c of this.

:yeshrug: what can I say, I like betting a lot and study how the whole industry works in my spare time. It's a hobby of mine, I guess you could say.

My sport of choice is the NBA, but NFL is profitable in the right situations, but this year it's been really, really tough to call. The reality is, if you really wanna profit off of sports, you don't make the biggest plays on the prime time ones.

These ones are where Vegas makes their money, but if you bet on the obscure games where you can make a play that isn't affected by shyt tons of money, then you're good.

For me, these bets are strictly entertainment. I used to bet a lot (way too much :snoop:) on the NBA every night, but those days are behind me. I just like to do it small time now to try and make some extra spending money/make a game interesting.

But the NFL has been a killer this year. A big time Costa Rican sportsbook (Betislands) actually went broke officially days after that Texans-Pats game. :pachaha:

So yeah, that game was a prime example of how the books got murdered this season. They made some of their money back, but the estimates are that Vegas lost a couple million in sportsbook money this year.

outside of the month of november and one of the late weeks (i forget what one), football has been fantastic this year. september was the biggest month ever on record in the nfl profit wise for the books. even with the shytty month of november, most books held at least 4-5% this season. november would have been WAY worse had most people not lost most of their bankroll in the first 5 or 6 weeks of the season. theres no book in the state of nevada that lost money on football this season, anyone quoting anything of that sort is lying through their teeth. /college football was a fukking gold mine all season, so even in losing weeks most books had en extra 300-400K on the ledger to pad the sunday and monday losses on the bad weeks. 4 favorites wild card week didnt mean much, since all 4 games stayed under, and most people had the colts on their tickets. the viking game was mostly minny money as well until the qb situation unfolded, but that only broke an hour before kick so the packers game didnt sting that much

I wouldn't doubt what you're saying. I recall reading a report that said several books lost approx $3-$4 million, but like you say, it's probably wrong.

I bet offshore so I honestly couldn't gauge how it is from vegas other than what I hear through word of mouth, but I know some of the offshore books took a hit including Betislands.
