I discovered Patrice from that Collin Quin show that the comedians used to go HAM on each other.

I used to enjoy his commentary on those VH-1 specials. When he started popping up on the Opie & Anthonty show, it's when I became a huge fan. He wasn't just telling a stupid joke. It had so much depth and life meaning to them.

When I got my first job out of school, I'd listen to O&A and Black Phillip religulously. I thought he was on the cusp on really blowing up to a bigger level. I thought he was joking when he said on the Roast "Oh shyt, I'm sitting next to this bytch, and she's up there making jokes, and I'm dying."

41st was the worsest turf on the earth...
first comedian i've missed like this. when richard pryor and george carlin died i was upset but at the same time they built their legacy and cemented their status. i feel like patrice was capable of doing so much more. he had only just begun to get some success.

This. I been sittin on all the Black Phillip episodes and I'm up to like 10 but I be procrastinating listenin to the last few cause after that aint no more and won't never be no more. The good part is that these shows are really re-listenable. I'll prolly be listenin to these bytches for the rest of my life.
