I dont get it. If ebola is only transferred through bodily fluid how is it even spreading like that.
You mean to tell me you have to touch someone who is infected feces, blood or vomit and then put it in you mouth or eye? :why:

The nurses aint use gloves?

If thats the case nikkas need to step they hygiene game up.

There's a reason why healthcare workers are the only 'confirmed' cases. :sas2:

Reports are now coming out that the Trains could be an issue. Damn. Telling folks, I'm standing up against the doors.

This is why I rarely touch the poles, and even if I do I use hand sanitizer as soon as I get off the train, and this is before the Ebola scare. Like you said, the trains, can be a real issue. Majority of the time, when the trains, reach the terminals, they go right back out (especially on the 1 line), which doesn't give the cleaners enought time to clean the cars. And when they do clean the cars, they don't wipe down the poles. They sweep & might mop the floor of the cars and that's it.

Exactly. Those poles are always cold and I feel they are the perfect host for disease. You have MILLIONS of people touching those poles. You do not know where people's hands have been. Someone could sneeze and cough in their hands and touch that pole. My pole days are done, I will just do that "Two-point" stance when the train stops. I just don't like how all these reports are so quick to come out "The subway are safe, don't worry, everything is OK". I know they don't want to cause panic but people have always been concerning about sanitation on the subways. Also there are a lot of homeless on those trains that are dirty that just ride the trains all damn day.

MTA releases statement to calm Subway fears:

MTA ‏@MTA 30m30 minutes ago
Person diagnosed with #Ebola rode @NYCTSubway, but health commissioners agree there was no risk to subway NYCTSubway or any MTA employees.

Of course they would say that. The Subway makes MILLIONS per day. Imagine 5 Million locally and another 3 Million out of towners that ride the subway daily. People pay 2.50 per ride. Do the math as only 30% of New Yorkers have driver's licences.

There was plenty of times that I would hold onto the pole on the train for a long time and when I let go my palms are sweaty and the pole gets moist

The hype on Ebola is so crazy. There is a reason it hasn't become a pandemic yet, because it cannot sustain itself outside of bodily fluid, nor spread through the air.

Y'all looking to be scared? Go look up Small Pox (Google image search is the devil brehs...be warned). That shyt is the true plague and if that pops up ANYWHERE in the world, it's a wrap.
Ebola, while having a high mortality rate, is not a plague inducing virus. This is mostly fear mongering, and there is likely a pharmacuetical company waiting in the wings to save the day to the tune of big profits.

Couple books on both Ebola and Small Pox that were good reads:

The Hot Zone
The Demon in the Freezer

Both by Richard Preston and both scientifically accurate on infectious diseases.

I work for a medical supply company and they are :eat: right now. There is now another suspected case is League City, Texas. I think its over reaction. They have been going crazy for supplies since the story broke in Dallas.
