A congregation is saddened to see the loss of their pastor, who killed himself this week right before church. The man, Rev. Teddy Parker Jr., confessed to his congregation that sometimes, “I don’t feel like God is hearing me.”

The preacher committed suicide as his wife and children waited for him to get to church, along with 800 members of his congregation. According to 13 WMAZ, Rev. Parker was the pastor of the Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church in Macon, Ga.
The pastor was found by his wife Larrinecia after he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Lakesia Toomer, who spoke for the church, told WMAZ, “We consider this a private matter between the family and the BMZ church family. We kindly ask that the public respects our privacy at this time.” “When he didn’t show up they went looking for him,” Rusell Rowland, a friend, told the Christian Post. “I’m very surprised because he didn’t preach that. He preached totally against it. It’s something that the congregation don’t really understand.”
The pastor spoke of his personal struggle during a Youtube sermon called “Facing Your Storm with Confidence.”

That is really sad, he must have felt so alone. In church you are always taught God never leaves you or forsakes you. So to get to that point when you feel like God just left you off to yourself. That feeling coupled with depression probably pushed him over the edge.
