I read an article and it mentions demographics and women's changing role in society as a possible cause.
A lot of women (Black women included) are on the up trend of being more educated than men, which leads to more access to income and independence and changing ideals of what they want in a spouse.
Some men view it as a challenge since having the role of provider or breadwinner is highly attached to the image of being a man, and a woman having that usually negates that. Usually men retaliate when their masculinity is challenged and the rise of Kevin Samuels type influencers and this Passport Bro thing is a type of retaliation.
College educated and wealthy men tend not to retaliate as much tho.

I can see this. But all women are outpacing men in education, which I think is just a function of America's education campaigns over the past few decades. All men still outpace women in income though.
