you not hitting me with the same shyt you hit dude with. My parents whooped me and was very loving too. I used to do shyt as a youngin and before I would decide to go through with it I would think of what my punishment would be. If I was just gonna get a beating I would be like "let's do this". But taking away my nintendo, my vhs tapes, all my books that weren't biography and history related, and then grounding me and stop me from playing outside with my friends...that shyt really hit me. THAT shyt really affected me, and once they realized that, they stopped hitting me, and once they started doing the other shyt, i stopped doing dumb shyt.

Them whippings didn't do shyt I would be ok later on, but taking my shyt away for weeks, that shyt resonated and made me cry like a little bytch

Ok, I can agree with this, but still, we are on the internet where we discuss this shyt. not like we're potential jurors, we can speculate.

You really think the young buck didn't have a reason to run away? Disregard "How the case pans out". Let me know your personal opinion on a kid getting abused in the grip of a demon and breaking free. Give me your opinion as to why he shouldnt run away

It didn't work for me. If anything it made me more prone to using violence. All the beatings in the world didn't stop me from getting suspended from school for fighting or anything else bad I have done.

I'm still authoritative with my child. There are other ways to discipline your child, and the most effective way of disciplining your child is setting the example. I'm slowly learning that.

For example, if your child gets bad grades in school, is spanking really the solution if you haven't sat down with your child and shown him or her that YOU are educated and that YOU value an education? Is spanking the child really a solution if you as a parent haven't taken time to sit with the child and help him/her with her homework and DEMONSTRATE to them that you know how to do the things you are telling them are important?

Yup. Same here. I got beat as a kid and I was always fighting in school and getting suspended for it. Beating kids just sends the message through example that you solve problems and make people act in a desired manner through violence. There's enough statistical evidence to back this up. That's why the APA doesn't recommend it. I'm not going to beat my kids. I didn't decide that until adulthood.

No one should beat their kids. You beat a grown person if it's necessary. However, If you whoop your children, and do it right, it can be productive.

I moved out the house at 15.. and still went to school, still made str8 A's in all honors classes. I was good for the most part.. even when doing bad sh1t, I still had discipline with the way I went about it. I would like to think that getting my ass beat all those time played a huge role in my development.

I don't really hit my sons. I have three, two years apart. But I have smacked up my oldest a few times, the second one see this and I don't even have to address him for the same sh1t. My oldest presses the limits on Everything. You have to have a balance in childbearing and nothing (that isn't cruel and mean-spirited) should be off the table.

IF you have to beat that ass more than a few times in a few months then you should think about what you're doing.. Truthfully those non beating punishments are worse; find out what they love and take it away.. let the other kids do sh1t they can't do, do any sort of creative punishment and that sh1ts like torture to a kid.

That one ass whooping that you didn't give your kid (especially a boy) could be the reason he makes avoidable mistakes.

THREE local adult religious Christian women (mom, aunt, AND grandma) allegedly beat/spanked/whooped/whipped the mom's 6yo son with a wooden spoon yesterday.

The 6yo kid said so at school today while "acting out." <----whatever THAT means
OF COURSE the teachers reported it. They are mandatory reporters. The dad was called to the school.

After visiting the 6yo's school today, the kid's father text messaged about these events to an attorney friend. The dad did not realize that the attorney friend is ALSO a mandatory reporter. The dad's disclosure started a 48 hour clock for the lawyer. Report by the end of hour 48, or risk losing that law license. X_x

moral of the story:
Groups of adults should not beat lil kids with wooden spoons. It just creates more bytch WORK for extraneous lawyers.

I can rock with this. You shouldn't have to whoop a kid after the age of 5 in my opinion. When I say whoop, I just mean a couple of smacks on the but..


But if you got teenage sons and they get gully enough to try you, its mandatory that you give them that work.......
