People grow wiser. I still have much to learn on how to be a better person.

I was spanked harshly as a child. My father and mother before me. Their parents before them. I made a conscious effort to break the cycle. It might be a mistake, we'll see.

Like I said, the last thought that would ever cross my mind regarding my child is using violence.

Do you like the man you've become? If so whoop yo sons ass, within reason. Theres a balance between beating a kids ass and giving son a disciplinary, WHOOPIN.

Thread title should read "Parents torture their 7 year to death". They beat the child to the point where he had open wounds on his bottom. Wounds caused by everything in the kitchen expect the sink. They make him take a bath with said wounds then throw coco butter on it. :dead: Not to mention a 6ft tall nikka shaking the shyt outta lil duke. To top it off, homie fell down the stairs on to a coffee table and landed directly on his head. They responded by sending him to bed after the kid said he felt nauseous :wow: The next morning they call their pastor :science:asking for help when their son is clearly in his bed dying....two hours later they call 911:scusthov:

this pretty much sums it up. good to know im not the only one who :russ: at that. sad story tho :to: i hope they get life

unlike everyone else tho i dont blame religion for this :ld: they were just shytty guardians. if it wouldn't have been for not reading the bible it woulda been something else

It didn't work for me. If anything it made me more prone to using violence. All the beatings in the world didn't stop me from getting suspended from school for fighting or anything else bad I have done.

I'm still authoritative with my child. There are other ways to discipline your child, and the most effective way of disciplining your child is setting the example. I'm slowly learning that.

For example, if your child gets bad grades in school, is spanking really the solution if you haven't sat down with your child and shown him or her that YOU are educated and that YOU value an education? Is spanking the child really a solution if you as a parent haven't taken time to sit with the child and help him/her with her homework and DEMONSTRATE to them that you know how to do the things you are telling them are important?

Showing affection between males was seen as weak in my family, but it wasn't a neglectful relationship. A lot of hard labor work day to night, 6 days a week obviously didn't leave a lot of time. He did what he had to do. Moms usually did the disciplinary work around the house. When dad came to discipline, you usually fukked up something big. You know how it is.

This conversation with Mowgli reminds me of a funny story from my moving from Brazil to the United States.

I remember sitting in elementary school, after having learned sufficient English in ESOL (:russ: ), a police officer came to speak to us about parental abuse. Basically telling us that if our parents beat us to call 911. Well, armed with this new information, the next time I was spanked I threatened to call the police. :russ: My mom put the belt down and looked hurt, like she started crying that I would say such a thing. So I basically ran after her apologizing and asking her to keep hitting me. :russ:

Some funny shyt.

I think when the discipline is administered but the love is absent an angry nikka is created. I began this generalization watching a documentary on Hitman Ted Kazinsky. His pops whooped that ass and thats pretty much it so everytime he found a loud mouth dude, it reminded him of his dad, and he wanted to destroy that man. I think when you whoop a kids ass, but still do the father son shyt like watchin movies, playin sports, choppin up game, etc, shyt is different. Just my take :ld:

If your kid comes home with some shyt you know he should have his ass whooped for and all you say is *go to your room, ur on punishment for a month. Lotta chores* I just dont know if it drives home the same dissapointment.

This isn't a religous thing, its a bad parenting thing. They could have found a half empty hennesey bottle and blamed it on the alcohol. If the stepdad served it Iraq they could spin it to PTSD, at the end of the day its bad parenting. The evidence is there but in reality we aren't going to look at her facebook posts and say she was religous and give her a pass.

What people fail to understand is that kids are supposed to rebel within reason, IE break curfew, eat cookies before dinner, slack on their chores. And as parents there are ways to reinforce doing right from wrong, abiding by rules and shyt. Striking fear by way of beating is a general way of doing that. It works for some but not for others.

People 'talk' about being perfect kids or having perfect kids. There's a saying by family counselors "90% of people come from dysfunctional families, the other 10% are lying about it"

There's a family life cycle that discusses disconnecting and reconnecting, ie turing 18 and moving out from under your parents roof and restablishing your relationship with them.

If a child fails to experience full generativity they may be able to stand on their feet and be able to move out once they hit 18, they will disconnect from their parents but they won't reconnect. This is common with children who don't rebel. In a sense they just bottle everything up, hold on to grudges and wrongs, get out a never look back.

.. that kid really had a fcked up, off TV cartoons type of day. I mean fck, seriously?..
all that sh1t happened in one night. Then they didn't call 911, they called the pastor- who was too busy collecting scraps and getting domed up (assumption) to notice an obviously emotionally and physically damaged child that attended his show every Sunday.

I cant view the case through your imagination. Lets see how it pans out.

You just wanna defend these parents because they beat and tortured their kid (and it wasn't even dudes son :stopitslime:) for not reading something that is no different than watching Night of the Living Dead you are gullable enough to fall for

Defending them. Im just saying i dont think they murdered the kid but they did beat him severely. Im not sure why you disagree with that.
