Happy Birthday To The Greatest Rapper Of All Time, Rakim Allah
If Rakim isn’t in your top 10 then your top 10 is invalid. Rakim popularized the traditional hip hop rhyming style that is popular today. Before him, most rappers were usually screaming on their records to provide that rock star effect to their rhymes and to boost their anti-establishment status. Rakim came on the scene and turned it down, rapping in a normal voice as if he was talking, which signified that the man didnt need to scream to prove his lyrical and mental fury and state of mind. Hailing from the jungles of Wyandanch and also the jungles of Fort Greene, Brooklyn.... the man was and is definitely a people’s champ and is revered by almost anybody urban music related. Shoutout to Eric B @therealdjericb for providing the brand and Supreme Magnetic @supremebkfg and Rapp, two Gods from the streets of Fort Greene. Rest In Peace to Ant Live. Rakim wasn’t just a man, he was a movement, and to this day, there’s rarely a movement that was as effective and as his was. #RakimAllah #Rakim #LongIsland#Wyandanch
