Rest easy OG Rapp. Dude was and will always be a real NYC street legend. Knew him from Eric B and Rakim Paid In Full days, he’s one of the brothers on the back of the record. Got to hang with him this past Thanksgiving thanks to @RussellPeters Spent a few hours soaking up game, listening to street tales and taking notes. He told me an epic story about getting Shantes chain back from his people for her back in the day. His life would make one hell of a movie. His name will always ring bells, Rest Easy #OGRAPP #FortGreenMissionPosse #NYC #GoldenEra #RealLiveG #RestInPower

Above the fray.
Interesting reading about New York Puerto Ricans and contrasting them to the PRs I knew growing up.

NY Ricans seem to be known for being gangster. In Jersey they were known for 3 things. Being good dressers when it was time to step out and get fly, being good artists, and definitely known for squatting.

Dudes who made the mistake of jumping a Puerto Rican, had entire families of people waiting outside, their building or school grounds for Round 2. Squatting outside. When I say families, I'm talking cousins, uncles, senior citizens, toddlers.

Puerto Rican area was and still is around Bloomfield Avenue, starting where downtown Newark ends.

Passaic, Paterson, and maybe some other cities had a larger Rican presence. There were PRs around Newark scattered, but outside of maybe Central or Barringer(always get the confused), there was no high school where they made up a large %. Again, their presence was felt when somebody was stupid enough to jump one of them, but they weren't as heavy in the streets out here as they seem to have been in NYC .
