This is why I don't think a 1st or 2nd to acquire him would be as monumental as people think. As long as we can't get consistent pressure on the QB, having Minkah won't make a world of difference1. The pass rush/Dts is a complete separate issue from what we are speaking about breh. Its obvious we will never value the 1-tech position as long as Marinelli is here.
He probably is a better player than from how little I've seen or heard about him withering away in Miami, but if you can't get to the QB, it doesn't really matter how good your DBs are. That's just facts
If they do it I'll be happy we got more talent. Hopefully it's not a 1st. If they don't, I don't think it's over for the team. We'll prob draft DB 1st or 2nd round this coming year anyways. Sure, he might not be 11th overall pedigree, but you'll have 2 more years of control over him than Minkah. And 5 years from 2020 sounds better than 3 years with probable holdout fukkery in 2 years from 2020. Especially with the contracts we're putting on the books.
Mikah plays well for a 6-8 game stretch at any point over the next 2 seasons and he's going to be asking for a $60-70mil bag come 2022. Then what?
He doesn't play well so you don't pay him, but you fukked off a 1st or 2nd in the process. Then what?
Basically you brehs believe Minkah is the missing piece to put us over the top and win a SB this year. Go for it. Hopefully I'm wrong and he's an impact player. I'd rather have taken the gamble with Clowney than Minkah, though.
